Question
I am 16 and fairly active I play 3 sports and work at a grocery store. Every day it seems I'm never fully awake. I can barley make it through school without sleeping because I can only fall asleep if I'm in my bed. I usually get around 7 hours of sleep a night which is all i can really get, but shouldn't that be enough? Even on the weekends I'm still tired.
Answer
fIRST OF ALL you should show this to your parents. Go to your md and get complete blood and urine to rule out the most common problem like mono or anemia. If all checks out go to sleepnet.com and click on disorders narcolepsy and read about it. You need not have all the symptoms . Then go to Y.A.W.N young americans with narcolepsy. You might consider going to a sleep center for an overnight eeg which they monitor your sleep pattern. But first the easiest is to get the blood test. Feel free to email again karel
