Night Sweats

Question
Hi there,

I'm not sure if this is the correct category for this question.

I'm asking for my boyfriend, he's 24 years old and very active [tri--athelete], but in the last year he's been having horrible night sweats every single night. They start about 1 hour after he falls asleep. Never when he's awake. And they last up to 4-5 hours. The weird thing is he never has them in the summer, only this winter, even if I take the blankets off he still sweats, and complains of how cold he is even when blankets are piled on....

The sweat is like a wash cloth dipped in water and slightly wrung out.

Thanks in advance!

Answer
This is out of my field however night sweats need to be checked out by an md as there is definietely something hormonal like possible low blood sugar, diabetes or thyroid trouble, he need to go to the doctor and tell him whats happening so they can run basic blood and urine tests to rule these out. feel free to email again karel
