Answer
It could also be hypnangogic hallucinations which is normal phenomenon if happens now and then, what happens the body and brain are supposed to fall asleep and awaken together however once in awhile, there is a lag of a nano second and so one isdreaming with ones eyes open, if your daytime wakefulness is suffering then it could be narcolepsy a sleeping disorder but this is not what you describe, it also could be panic attacks, perhaps knowing its natural phenomenon may make you relax more.  also 3 hours before your bedtime stay away from alcohol, caffeine, caramel colored soda like coke, pepsi, tea, coffee and chocolate and exercise make for restless sleep. l5 minutes before bedtime try a glass of warm milk. Milk plain heated contains trytophan a natural amino acid sleep inducer, also try a hot bath to relax, if it persists consult your md or a sleep center to have your sleep evaluated.  go to sleepnet.com click on narcolepsy hypnangogic hallucinations just to read about its symptom itself.  you dont have narcoelpsy. feel free to email again karel
