Question
When almost falling asleep, my body will make a sort of grunting sound -- a quick sound that seems to come from my chest. It can happen as many as three to four times before falling to sleep. It seems to happen as my body relaxes and am almost asleep. It is audible to those around me. It happens if I am sitting up and dozing in a chair, or in the bed lying flat.
Answer
It does not sound to me like a snore, it maybe just due to sinus trouble. Go to sleepnet.com and search their forum. feel free to email again Karel. However is your daytime wakefulness is being affected then it could be sleep apnea, otherwise i would not sleep flat but on 2 pillows and see if that alleviates the problems.
