Question
Hi. I am 48 years old and go to bed at a pretty regular time. I am pretty good at getting to sleep (15-30 minutes) but after 5-6 hours or so I wake up and it takes an hour or 2 to get back to sleep again. I like 8 hours/night. Do you have any tips on how I could stay asleep throughout the night? Any good web sites regarding this questions?
Thanks. Pat O'
Answer
usually as one gets older they will find themselves only needing 5 or 6 hours of sleep. first of all if you are awake for 2 hours do not stay in the bed,get up and do something boring like reading a book so it will tire you more quickly. also at least 2 hours before you go to sleep stay away from any alcohol, chocolate, caramel, coke or pepsi as this tend to make sleep more restless.as far as websites go you can punch in search narcolepsy chat and you will find all different sleep disorders ,punch on insomnia, hope this helps feel free to write again, karel
