Question
Hello,
I and my wife are trying for a baby.
However after seven years of marraige I noticed one thing
my wife some worries
in her head going on ...which ends up in
waking in middle of night or can not sleep
whenever she wants to sleep.
She is very active woman. She always like to
involve herself in house chores or her job related things. Her mind is always thinking
of something either some work related or
about friends or other matters.
Problem is she can not sleep whenever she
wants to eventhough she is really exhausted.
Could you please tell me what can be done ?
Is there anything I can do to bring her
sleeping issue to normal ?
please let me know if there is any medicine
out there.

First of all Happy new year and im sorry for the delayed response.Yes your wife should stay away from coke,pepsi,alcohol,chocolate,caffeine or exercise 4 hours before bedtime.Also dont lie in bed twisting or turning after 20 minutes if you cant sleep get out of bed and do something boring like reading a book,If you find yourself falling asleep on the sofa then go back into the bed.The bed must be assiciated with sleep only.Also the old hot milk does work.When heated has tryptophan an amino acid that produces sleep.Also if this fails you can try melatonin which is sold in a health store or vitamin.Its natural however not to take it too long and ask your doctor .I believe the starting dose is 3mg. per night>If all else fails get evaluated at a sleep center.For more information go to sleepnet.com and click on sleep disorders than insomnia.or chronobiology.Feel free to email again.,good luck,karel
