Question
i have problems with going to sleep early. it's like i just don't want to go to sleep. i stay up doing homework til 12-3 am and wake up at 6:30-6:45 am for school. i do take a lot of naps when i can.. but most of the time i don't. my sister told me this was a disorder... not being able to go to sleep at a reasonable time (i haven't been to sleep before 12 am since september with a few exceptions..) ... and i know this isn't healthy for me, but it's hard to avoid. i guess it stems from a procrastinating personality.
Answer
If it does not interefere with your daytime routine, then it may just be your system,However if you find yourself very tired in the daytime. Here are a few tips.Drink no caffeine, coke, pepsi, eat chocolate, or excercise 3 hours before your normal bedtime.Try to back up your bedtime if its not to 2 or 3am an hour each night until you get to around 11pm.Then go to sleep and wake up the same time each day.If you are taking any prescription meds tell your doctor as this could be a side effect and they may need to adjust the dosage. Also in health food stores they sell melatonin I believe the dosage is .3 mg. Its a food supplement used to induce sleep.,but ask your md first, and if you can do without it,the better, and the old cliche, warm milk before bed is true.Milk has tryptophan when heated an amino acid that produces sleep in our brains.Help this helps feel free to write again, karel
